Airports, Indian Food and a Garage Bootcamp

My husband came home from his trip to Vietnam and Cambodia early on Saturday morning.  He was having trouble recovering from his overnight flight and the time difference, so I kind of feel like I was also going through the motions of post jet lag activities because we kept our weekend super quiet.

Friday night I was a good wife and did some cleaning around the house.  Not as much as I should, but some :)

Saturday morning I got up early (about 6am) to get in a Project Ripped workout.  After a quick shower and breakfast (leftover Lite’n’Easy meal), I headed to the airport to pick up my man.  I didn’t have to wait too long.  I love the mixed vibe at airports!  Some people like me are excited to be seeing a loved one, others are travelling and tired, and others are just heading off on their journey and pumped and a little stressed.  It’s a rush!

After taking Gareth home and watching the reunion between man and dog, I took Angus for his walk whilst Gareth unpacked and settled in.  Then I got into the inevitable post-holiday washing :)  I also played with my blog for the afternoon.

Reunited and it feels so good!

We wanted a lazy dinner, so ordered Indian to be delivered through Delivery Hero.  I love Indian food!  We had palak paneer, which is a cottage cheese spinach dish, chicken madras that is fairly mild, with rice, garlic naans and a couple of vegetable samosas.  Although it feels pretty creamy, this place seems to use fresh produce and we get good quality meat etc.  We like variety, but it was too much food so probably threw about half out.  I did eat my whole garlic naan though!

I settled in on the couch to watch Rocky II (I think it is my favourite one!), but Gareth crashed early.  I didn’t have dessert, but I may have had an extra glass of red wine instead.  After a couple of episodes of Sex and the City I was ready to call it a night too.

'Yo Adrian!'

We all slept in this morning until about 8:30, and took it slow.  After another Lite’n’Easy breakky, I took Angus for a walk then decided I wanted to do a circuit at home.  So in my garage I:

My Garage Bootcamp

  • Skipped for 5 minutes
  • Did the following exercises for 30 seconds each:
    • Lunges
    • Squats
    • Pushups
    • Squat rows with plates
    • Bicep curls
    • Tricep dips
    • Crunches
    • Plank

I had a minute rest, and then completed the circuit 3 more times, and finished with 5 extra minutes of skipping.  It was actually really good – simple to get set up and started, I didn’t need to go anywhere, and it just got my heart pumping for the day.

My basic garage bootcamp set up
After a shower and lunch, I went to the local shopping centre to check out the free wifi.  I tell you what, this blogging business is pretty hard on the data!  I’ve personally used up all our home data and my mobile data limits for the month, so I’m on the hunt for free internet access.  It turns out the connection is pretty good here, so I settled in with a coffee and started playing with my blog some  more.

Any excuse for a coffee ...
As you know I’m pretty new to this blogging caper, so my goal today was to find the best way to reduce the size of my pictures, so it doesn’t take so long for my post to open for you, and doesn’t take as much data for me to upload!  I found a program call FastStone that seems to be pretty good.  Do any of you experienced bloggers have any suggestions on what I should do / use?

I may also have hit up Target to buy some more of the nail polish that I was wearing last week but in a different colour.  Purple it was!  And seeing as I can never leave Target with only one item, I might have also purchased some underwear on sale – I love a bargain.

Cheap = happy!
The evening will be pretty standard Sunday fair for us.  Lite’n’Easy for dinner, getting organised for the week, and early to bed.  I’m pretty happy to be able to curl up with both of my boys.  Oh, and Gareth is going to do Lite’n’Easy for a couple of weeks too, so I’ll get his perspective on the meals and share – just for all the guy out there who may be interested.

Hope you had a great weekend!

What’s the longest you and your significant other have been apart?  When was the last time you were at an airport? Why were you there?  What’s your favourite takeaway food?
