I stayed back at work a bit later than normal on Friday night, so dinner was whatever was easy - grilled chicken on coleslaw with baked sweet potato (leftovers).
After a strength workout and a run, all I wanted was a big smoothie! This one had rockmelon and spinach.
Then we headed out for our Saturday action, but first, I got my first birthday present - a Kobo Glo! So excited! Thanks babe!
Then we went out for lunch to the Boatbuilders Yard at South Wharf.
I had smashed avocado and a poached egg. It was really good, but SO much avocado - I couldn't eat it all. And I love avocado!
Then we got ready to head to the main event: the Arnold Classic Expo.
It was packed!
It's a multi sport event, with lots of championships and competitions taking place like arm wrestling:
And weightlifting, just to name a few.
I picked up a few goodies at the Expo. First, some weightlifting gloves! I've been thinking about getting some for a while to see if it makes a different to my grip, so with an Expo special on, I took the leap!
And I found a great clean eating recipe book by Sophie Guidolin. I'm looking forward to giving some of these recipes a try!
Oh, and there was some free stuff too.
When we got home, we decided Thai takeaway was the go tonight. Although we ordered food from a local place, they took ages to deliver it - over an hour and a half. We are so not good at picking places to get food from! But it was good, so we forgave them. This time.
And then we watched the second part of my birthday present - the third movie in the Hunger Game series, Mockingjay Part 1. I've been waiting for this one! I liked it, but Gareth didn't.
Sunday started with a long run (13.1km because I'm start to taper for my race next weekend), and then I felt like simple poached eggs on toast for breakfast.
I got into the washing after having a shower, and thought I should do some proper Sunday set up this week. I've been getting home late, so to make dinner a bit easier I cut up bok choy, red capsicum, carrot, zucchini, onion and garlic cloves ready to throw into meals next week.
I wanted to start playing with my Kobo, so I started setting it up. It takes awhile to download all 300 books - I was watching this for awhile (sorry about the dark pic).
Then it was lunch time! I had leftover pulled pork on a baked (well, microwaved!), sweet potato, with as much coleslaw as I could pile on top.
My afternoon was about making a St Patrick's Day dish - more to come during the week :)
And my weekly batch of ice cream for my husband :)
I think that's enough for one weekend! Hope you had a good one.
What do you think about body building competitions - yay or nay?
